Jonathan Frid has passed away...

I just read the sad news of Jonathan's passing. What a shame he won't
get to enjoy the results of his appearance in the new film, to attend
the premiere and enjoy seeing it on the big screen, and receive the love
and adoration from all the fans one more time.

Depp and Burton must be devastated. Hopefully they will add a
tribute/dedication to him in the movie.

I feel as if I've lost a dear, longtime friend. Today, my rose below is
for you...

Very sad news, indeed. I wish I'd had a chance to meet him at one of the
conventions. I still have my 3 tee shirts with his face on them, 2
autographed photos, a old license plate that reads "BRNABAS," and of
course the whole series on DVD. Goodbye to the original Barnabas!

I was fortunate enough to meet him at one of the conventions.

I was there with my friend who was in a wheelchair, and I was assisting
her, pushing her chair. When we got into his long autograph line, the
organizers were kind enough to move us up to the front.

When we approached Jonathan, he signed our autographs and gave me a sly
smile and said "well, now, that's one way to get to the head of the
line" <g>
