Because a lot of us don't hate the movie (this is the second one, BTW,
the one without Barnabas), and Dan Curtis' original cut is supposed to
be far superior to the expurgated one the studio released.

After you see the entire series, IMHO, the movies are pointless.

Just becuase you can make a movie doesn't mean you necessarily should.
Both movies lost alot of the flavor that made the series so good.

Just becuase you can make a movie doesn't mean you necessarily should.

You're entitled to your opinion, and owing to your disdain for the
movies, I would suggest you not buy the DVDs when they are released. I
promise that I won't tie you up and force you to watch them.

As for me, while I don't love the movies nearly as much as I do the
series, I still enjoy them, and appreciate them for their place in Dark
Shadows history, and I WILL be buying the DVDs. If nothing else, I can
watch one of the movies in less than two hours, where it would take more
than 400 hours to watch the series. And yes, I do have the whole series
on DVD as well.
