Post by legal processPost by UbiquitousPost by m***@comcast.netI was thinking Michele Pfeifer might be a tad young for Liz- but from
the look of it.. i see i am wrong. I love how she's very drawn and
worn down looking. That's Liz's state of mind at the start of the
series. Who's the older lady in the back on the couch i wonder? Mrs.
Johnson as a senior citizen? Hmm.. curious.
I found it amusing that Willy looks like a werewolf, or the janitor
from The Simpsons.
Because it actually is Groundskeeper Willie.... Didn't you read the
description of the character below the picture?
Well, they screwed that up. Willie was never the groundskeeper, nor was he
a drunk. Matthew was the groundkeeper (he's apparantly been dropped for the
movie). Willie was a petty crook who showed up with the blackmailer who
tried to blackmail Liz when she thought she had killed her husband. He
tried to rob Barnabas grave, and got a big surprise. After that, he worked
for Barnabas, but he was never the groundskeeper.
Of course, they've also completely changed Mrs. Johnson, who was the
housekeeper, not a maid, was not much older than Elizabeth, and was neither
mostly blind nor mostly deaf. Hell, she originally took the job to spy on
the family, which would be rather difficult for someone who was mostly blind
and deaf!
I also note that they have Roger managing the family finances, which is also
not true to the original. Elizabeth managed the family finances. Roger
worked at the business, but Elizabeth had control because Roger had
squandered his share of the inheritence.
Julia never was hired by the family to care for David or anyone else. She
came into the original after Barnabas bit the waitress whose name I can't
remember offhand, to care for her after she went a little nuts (gee, I
wonder why). She figured out Barnabas was a vampire, that it was a disease,
and tried to cure him. But yeah, she was interested in him in more than one
way.
Not sure how Angelique fits. It sounds like she's supposed to be actually
present here, as opposed to being a ghost as she was in the present on the
original show.
Still, if they don't get too carried away with the comedy stuff, this might
turn out to be better than I expected after seeing that first horrible
picture that was posted.
