Some nice pics of it. Too bad they're only building the 1st floor and
doing the rest in CGI. Still, what they have looks pretty cool.

places that would serve as Collinwood, including, you know, the two
places that HAVE served as Collinwood!

But more importantly - Carolyn is 14??? What the heck? Carolyn should
be mid 20s, hot as Hell and to trot as well!

A flashback showed her at an early age during the Levitathan era, played by
Lisa Ross. But I think she was younger, possibly under 10.

When I saw that page, my first thought was that maybe Chloe Moretz
would play the character in scenes set several years in the past, and
an adult actress would play the character in the present, but Moretz
is the only actress that I have seen identified for the role, so,
yeah, it looks like they're going with a 14 year old Carolyn. I guess
we can assume that she won't be engaged to Joe Haskell in this version.

As I noted in my original post, the top is going to be added via CGI.
That's why there's green (or maybe blue--I don't remember) around the
top. It's fairly common these days, in movies and even TV shows, to only
build the lower floors of buildings and add the tops in CGI.

That's why the blue strip at the top; they're going to add a second
story digitally.

Chloe was great in "Let Me In," and I'm sure she'll do a fine job, but I
still think that Dakota Fanning would have been a fantastic Carolyn.
And, just like Chloe, she has the previous vamp cred for DS!

That's the HOUSE OF DARK SHADOWS old house, right? Wasn't that a ruin
in the film anyway? :)

It's the one used in the TV series, IIRC. I don't recall what it looked
like in HODS, or if it was the same one. Of course, the main house at
the Lyndhust Estate was Collinwood in HODS and NODS, so they were really
keeping it all in the family.
