Jonathan Frid, star of the original "Dark Shadows," died of natural
causes in Canada last Friday (April 13) at the Juravinski Hospital in
Hamilton, Ontario.

Wonder why they kept it a secret for almost a week?

All they had to do was stand around in a party scene. That wouldn't
require them seeing a script. Burton just says: "stand over there and
look like you're having fun talking to each other," and that's that.

Correct. I assume if they DID have something to say they might have
been given the line, but they asked for and were refused scripts. And
new cast members like Eva Green are taking weird shots at the old cast;
in Green's case they're also apparently out and out lies.

You do realize that it is common for an actor/actress to only see
their portion of the script, to not get the entire script.

Or sometimes they'll get a script with a number of
variations, to keep spoilers about plot secret until
the film debuts?

Also it is common for actors/actresses to sworn to
secrecy, to be severly penalzed for leaking details.

curious in the extreme. The movie trailers were received with
(deserved) titanic dislike; so many people posted to all kinds of
forums, everywhere, about the show's golden age--myself included. I
wonder if Mr. Frid was aware of all the support for him and all the
gorgeous members of the original--the ONLY--cast.
