LOOKS LIKE THE WEATHER IS GOING TO STOP US COMING DOWN! :(
Weather is predicting the Grapevine closing, and even passes to the
coast to take Hwy 101 being snowed in as well this weekend, trapping us
in this damn valley so we can't get out and reach So Cal. It looks like
there will be no way for us to get down there, short of a weather
miracle, thanks to this storm.

200 miles away with Oscars passes and the damn snow--which in HISTORY
has never snowed like this in February here, is going to kill it.

Considering the quality of movies this year consider yourself lukcy to
be missing the Oscars.

All the nominees are better suited for the Razees than the Oscar.
Especially the Social Network.

Oh no, that is so disappointing! I hope there's some miraculous break
in the weather so you can go after all.

I'm so sorry, Vince. I know how much you've been looking forward to
this. I hope there is some kind of weather miracle for you.

Having never been to California, I had to google the Grapevine. It looks
like it could be treaherous in the ice and snow, but the scenery is
beautiful.

Wild weather for you all.

Here in Wyoming, the sun is shining, but it's also snowing.

How's the weather, Vince? Crossing my fingers that it's clear enough
for you to go after all - only 6 hours until showtime!

It's chilly but sunny and beautiful here in NorCal right now, so
hopefully those warm vibes will carry over to SoCal too!

Very sorry to hear that.

I was going to ask you if James Franco seemed as lethargic in person
as he did on TV.

I am so sorry you didn't get to attend, but glad you did the wise thing
and stayed home safe and sound. :)

Perhaps his fellow nominee and new Julia, HBC, slipped him a few
sedatives from her evening bag?

Had to giggle at James, doing one of his guest spots as the psychotic
artist aptly named Franco, on General Hospital the Friday before the
Oscars. He was on the phone with his favorite target to torment, Jason,
apologizing for not having been in touch, "but that's what I get for
spending most of the spring caught between a rock and a hard place" <g>

I heard about that meta-reference. Didn't he also say something about
having to go to an important ceremony?

Yes, they showed him getting dressed up and saying something to that
effect, before he made the "rock and a hard place" reference. He also
made another brief appearance on Monday's show, kind of "bookending" the
Oscars on Sunday in-between the two shows.

From what I read, the producers were considering filming two different
scenes for Monday's show - one if he won the Oscar, and one if he didn't
- and using a satellite feed to air the appropriate scene on Monday.
But the logistics of such a last-minute switch were too difficult to
pull off, and they scrapped the idea.
