Hello.... I know Thanksgiving has come and past, although I am hoping
that I can post this story, being that I was away for this holiday I
was unable to post it before Thanksgiving. Thank you very much.
~A
Thanksgiving Story~
Once upon a time on the estate of Collinwood, within the county
limits of the city of Collinsport which is in the State of Maine,
there lived a very wealthy family and their name was Collins, this was
a very old family name for which the sea side port city was
named.
On this day which was Thanksgiving Day the family dressed in their
finest clothes, because they wanted to celebrate this years feast with
their cousin who had come from a far away place called Cadogan Square
that was in the country of England, and his name is Barnabas Collins,
everyone in the family knew Barnabas was a Collins because he looked
just like one their ancestor that was in a portrait in the foyer of
their house. Everyone was glad to have Barnabas as guest of honor
because this would be the first they would share with Cousin Barnabas
since his arrival five years earlier.
What the Collins family did not know and Barnabas hoped would never
know was that their cousin in truth did not come from England, he told
them fibs and untruths about almost everything except of course that
he was a Collins and their cousin. They could never know his deep
dark secret which is that he was a Vampire, which of course he is not
any longer, for now that Barnabas and his close friend Julia went back
in time and dimension Barnabas became cured from his curse, but his
cure came at a high price and that was the life of the witch who
placed the curse on Barnabas back in the year 1795 her name was
Angelique, she died to save Barnabas because she always loved Barnabas
and wanted him to love her, but he could not, at least not until that
minute when Angelique died in his arms he realized that he did love
her, but could not admit it to himself because that is the most
difficult to do.
It has now been a year since Barnabas and Julia along with Willie,
Professor Stokes, Quentin Collins and many others won the fight
against the evil that tried to destroy the Collins family.
This year the Collins family had so much to be thankful for, the
one thing they were thankful for most was that the curse that was over
the family for so long was broken and they could now live normal
lives. The dark Shadows of the supernatural were no more. The other
is that their Cousin Barnabas had fallen in love with Dr. Julia
Hoffman, they both were married on the same day that the curse ended.
The family had gathered together and were waiting for their guest of
honor when they heard a knock at the door. Mrs Johnson entered the
foyer, after opening the door she brings them to the family. Smiles,
hand shakes and hugs greeted the couple. Shortly after arriving and
while they sat engaging in conversation Mrs. Johnson entered to
announce that dinner was served. Elizabeth thanked her and said she
should go spend the holiday with her daughter in town. Mrs. Johnson
wished everyone a good evening.
The Family walked to the grand dinning room where the table was
beautifully set by Elizabeth and Carolyn with the help of their Friend
Maggie Evans. Roger Collins asked that Barnabas take the seat at the
head of the table and that he carve the Thanksgiving feast, Barnabas
also said the blessing before their meal. During Thanksgiving dinner
Willie Loomis came by to wish the family a happy Thanksgiving and was
asked to stay and enjoy Thanksgiving with them, even though Willie was
not a member of the family Barnabas wanted his trusted friend by his
side, and so this branch of the Collins family enjoyed the company of
their beloved Cousin Barnabas and his wife Julia and each other, for
the entire evening, everyone spoke of the good times and planned for a
bright future.
.......And That is
Just what they had.......
The End
The Ghost of Sarah Collins
"That evil is wicked is well understood,
the wicked are punished so you must be good."
