Wasn't the original an unintentional comedy? I never saw the original
series. Did people laugh at it, with it, or take it seriously? The
only thing I know about it is it was a soap opera that left in *lots*
of mistakes.
No, it was a serious soap opera when it first aired but due to budget
limitations, they had to perform live or in one take. When it went into
syndication, it became camp, something the Hollyweird set has yet to
understand that such things are not done purposely.

Well it was camp yes, but that's not quite the same as being
labeled a Horror-Comedy.

It was a soap opera. One that I recall my mother watching
almost as religiously as "Another World" during that time. It was
meant to be taken seriously, but there were moments when it was so out
there that it was coming off as camp. Just as camp as "Passions" did
more often times than naught whenever Juliet Mills was on the screen.
The only thing I know about it is it was a soap opera that left
in *lots* of mistakes.
And this is different than any other soap opera, how
precisely?
Production mistakes, not writing.

I'm more worried that Burton's will be an unintentional comedy... or
intentional. I'm relieved that the weird photo of Depp from a few
weeks ago, seems to not be what we'll see...

does anyone else think that the 'cast' photo's new Angelqiue (from the
far shot we have) looks pretty much like Nancy Barrett's Carolyn?
