The Gates: the pilot episode on ABC about a community of vampires,
werewolves, witches, etc... living in a gated community. This show
has some potential, certainly more than its lead-in above. I never
did quite figure out why this particular sheriff would be hired if
the community didn't want investigations to take place, but maybe the
show will reveal that at some point going forward. In any case, I
will tune in again for this one next week.
I watched this last night. I liked it better when it was titled "Dark
Shadows". I wanted to enjoy this really had a hard time reconciling
what was going on.
What did you watch?
SANDRA'S MONEY SAVING MEALS:
I'm sure this was a rerun, but they all are becoming a big blur now.

CHEATERS.

THE GATES

It is simply breathtaking to watch the glee and abandon with which
the liberal media and the Angry Left have been attempting to turn
our military victory in Iraq into a second Vietnam quagmire. Too bad
for them, it's failing.

I caught bits and pieces of "The Gates," thought it was more interesting
in premise than in actuality, although I didn't catch the whole thing.
I did find the idea intriguing of treating the lady vampire's affliction
as an addiction similar to alcoholism or drug abuse, like the scene when
her husband came home and smelled blood on her breath after noting her
strange behavior, and his disappointment in her, her swearing it
wouldn't happen again. etc. Not sure I'll keep watching or not, but it
was OK.

But like so many current shows and films, it seemed to jump on the
"Twilight" bandwagon by featuring both vamps and werewolves. I think
it might be better if they just focused on one element or the other and
told that story well.

Speaking of "Twilight," just read the new novella that is based on one
of the minor characters of "Eclipse," called "The Short Second Life Of
Bree Tanner." While it didn't feature the beloved trio of Edward, Bella
and Jacob except for some very brief scenes at the end, it added some
intresting back story to the "Eclipse" storyline, and is a worthwhile
read for any "Twilight" fans out there.
